In its work, Brandenburgisches Literaturbüro lays
emphasis on the following tasks:

The staff members of Brandenburgisches
Literaturbüro organise more than 50 readings a year featuring
authors and actors, in cooperation with libraries, theatres,
publishing houses, bookshops, art galleries and museums, which take
place in the State of Brandenburg. Especially the series of events
in Cottbus/Lübbenau, “Lausitzer Lesart”, the „Premnitzer und
Luckenwalder Literaturgespräche“ (discussions on literature), the
„Textlandschaften Zossen-Wünsdorf“ (textual landscapes), as well as
the „Prignitzer Literaturtouren“ (literary tours) enjoy great
popularity.
Since 2001 the Brandenburgische Literaturbüro has
organized the series of events „Tafelrunde Sanssouci“ (The Sanssouci
Round Table) in the Potsdam castle “Neue Kammern” (New Chambers), to
which prominent guests are invited to talk about contemporary issues.
Another emphasis in its work is the information of
the public about the literary history of the region. In exhibitions
on writers such as Peter Huchel, Günter Eich or on various periods
or subjects of literary history e.g. “Musen und Grazien in der Mark.
700 Jahre Literaturgeschichte im Land Brandenburg“”(Muses and graces
in the ”Mark”. 700 years of literary history in the State of
Brandenburg). Accompanying publications on the Land’s memorial
places of literature feature the literary tradition of the region.
Since the summer of 2006, Brandenburgisches
Literaturbüro has provided the regional internet literature portal «literaturport»
as a joint project with literarisches colloquium in Berlin (lcb),
which provides information on various historical and present aspects
of fiction and its creation in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Its supporting institution is the Brandenburgische
Literaturverein e.V. founded in 1994. Among the founding members are
Dr. Sigrid Grabner, Hendrik Röder, Ute Samtleben, Karim Saab, the
late Sigfried Görlich, Wolfgang de Bruyn, Jochen Röhrig und Heide
Bellin. According to its articles, it is the association’s goal to »support
the creation of fiction in its manifold manifestations in the State
of Brandenburg through a great variety of activities. It is an
association for the promotion of literature, not a lobbying
organisation for authors«.
Brandenburgisches Literaturbüro receives funding
from the Brandenburg Ministry of Science, Research and Culture.
Hendrik Röder and Katarzyna Kamińska are in charge
of its current activities such as readings, events, information and
consulting. Questions of literary history, e.g. memorial places,
biographical and historical information are dealt with by Dr. Peter
Walther.
In autumn of 2007 Brandenburgisches Literaturbüro
is moving into the newly restaurated Villa Quandt at the foot of the
Pfingsberg hill, where the Fontane-Archiv will be setting up its
offices as well.

 wurde 1964 in Potsdam geboren. Er studierte in
Greifswald und Essen Germanistik und Kunsterziehung. Als freier
Mitarbeiter schreibt er für verschiedene Tageszeitungen. Daneben
erschienen Publikationen über Erich Arendt, Ernst Haeckel, Imre
Kertész und Henning von Tresckow.
 wurde 1969 in Poznan/Polen geboren. Sie studierte
an der Universität Bremen Deutsche Sprach- und
Literaturwissenschaft, Kunstwissenschaften und Kulturgeschichte
Osteuropas. Im Projekt "Mehr Farbe in die Medien" wurde
sie am Adolf Grimme Institut in Marl als Redakteurin im Bereich
Fernsehen und Hörfunk ausgebildet Als freie Mitarbeiterin arbeitete
sie für Fernsehen und Hörfunk (Radio Bremen, NDR, MDR, ORB).
 Dr. phil., 1965 in Berlin geboren, Studium der
Germanistik und Kunsterziehung in Greifswald, Berlin und Essen;
neben Beiträgen in Zeitschriften und Sammelbänden sind u.a.
erschienen: »Peter Huchel. Leben und Werk« (1996); "Der Berliner
Totentanz zu St. Marien" (1997); „Märkische Dichterlandschaft. Ein
